Chapter 22
A knock on the door shook Calen out of her intense concentration of the next day’s script. She stretched and slowly got up to answer it. Standing on the other side was a very weary looking Gene, carrying a small basket. He smiled at her.
"Busy?" he asked, immediately taking in her thin, almost see-through T-shirt and shorts.
She grinned back at his lost puppy dog look. "Of course not, come in."
As Gene made his way inside, Calen’s curiosity overwhelmed her. "What's in the basket?"
"I thought you might be getting a little tired of the local Scottish fare, so I brought you these." Gene said, opening the basket. Inside he pulled out 2 cheeseburgers, greasy French fries, and a large box of chocolate chip cookies. Calen’s eyes got wide with anticipation.
"Have a seat at the table, and I will get us something to drink." Calen said, walking to the kitchen area, while Gene followed.
"Where did you get all of this?" she asked.
"I found a Bed and Breakfast run by an American couple, she was kind enough to cook us some cheeseburgers and fries. She understood that we might be getting a little homesick." He smiled.
"Oh, I am so hungry, thank you, you know how much I love big messy cheeseburgers!" she said, taking the basket and placing it on the counter.
"What do you want?" she asked, opening the door of the small refrigerator.
Gene stared at her. Could she see through him, to his true intentions for the visit? "What do you mean?" he asked.
"To drink. What do you want to drink?" she asked again.
"Oh, anything you have will be fine." He replied.
"Is anything wrong?" she asked, noting his change in demeanor.
"No, I’m fine, why?"
"You seem preoccupied."
"Sorry, I’m ok…."
"So, are you missing Terri? How long will she be in New York?"
"Another week or so, she will be meeting with the producers of The Practice sometime tomorrow. I really miss her being here."
"Aww, how sweet…." Calen joked.
"Watch it little girl! You aren’t too old to be spanked!" Gene joked back.
"Yeah, yeah, you're all talk!" she said, slapping Gene on the arm.
He smiled again as he watched her bend over the refrigerator to get their drinks. He couldn’t help but stare at her long legs and firm body. She looked so beautiful, how could she not turn him on?
"I can’t wait to taste these cheeseburgers." She said, grinning ear to ear. "You know how much I love them."
"Better than sex…" Gene smirked.
"Hum, I personally wouldn’t remember."
"When was the last time you saw Steve?"
"Since before I went into the rehab center. We talk all the time, but it isn’t the same, I miss him being here with me."
"I know how you feel. I miss Terri, even if she has only been gone but a couple of weeks."
"I am glad that the two of you are doing so well. I really can’t believe that she thought that we were sleeping together in the rehab center."
"Yeah, right, the thought of the two of us…."Gene started, but stopped cold when Calen glared at him.
"What do you mean, the thought of the two of us? Is there something wrong with me?"
Gene stammered with his words. He has always had that fantasy of a possible sexual liaison in the back of his mind, but because of Steve, had never brought it up. "I didn't mean anything by it, I just mean that, well, because we’re such good friends, that nothing would happen between us."
Calen smiled. "I know."
Gene ventured the subject more cautiously, "Just off the record, if we weren’t with other people, would you want to be with me?" The question took Calen completely off guard.
"Uh, well…." She started, but couldn’t put her feelings into words.
"You have to think about it?" he asked.
"No, of course not…it’s just a strange question." She laughed. "You know how I feel about you, you’ve known from the very beginning, even when you were with Shannon."
Gene grinned slyly as he moved closer. "Refresh my memory."
Calen suddenly got nervous. She saw a fire in Gene’s eyes and knew it well. It was a look she had seen him use with other women, but never with HER. Indeed his smile gave away his intentions right away, and she loved the very idea, but what about Steve? What about Terri?
"Gene," she started again, trying to hide her anxiousness. "What is about you that makes you want to hear this over and over again? I love you…." She said.
"I know you love me, and I love you. But the question is, do you WANT me?" he asked.
Calen’s mind was thrown back. "You remember the first time we met and you were still with Shannon? I told you then that if I wanted you. I always have ever since…but what about Terri? I thought you loved her."
"I do love Terri very much, as much as you love Steve. But you can't tell me that you haven’t wondered about us…. How explosive we would be together." Gene said, his voice going ever so low, deep and sensual.
Calen couldn’t resist. Ever since she could understand anything about sex, she dreamed of being with Gene Simmons. Getting to know him as a person and having the privilege of being his friend made her want him that much more. It was true that she loved Steve, her heart truly belonged to him, but it was another part of her that was wanted to be with the man that sat so close to her. Could she put in jeopardy everything she had with Steve to be with Gene, even for one night?
"I have always wondered that. I had no idea you had even considered anything like this with me." She said.
"How could I not? The more I know of you, the more I want to know ALL of you. I want to feel you from the inside out. Taste your lips…." He said, but let his voice trail off. He did love Terri, more than he did love any woman he had ever known. Could he risk this? He remembered the hurt look in her eyes when she came into the rehab center and thought the worst. How would she feel if they really would be together? Would she forgive him for one night of passion? For one night of two people, sharing their loneliness?
He turned back to Calen and concentrated on her. He did want her. He ached for her sometimes, that is something that not even Terri knew much less Calen. He didn't know whether or not she felt the same after all these years, but now was the time, the time to show her just how hungry he was for her, and hoped that Terri would understand….
"I don’t know how many times I laid awake nights thinking about you. Wishing you were next to me, making love to me." Calen whispered.
"What about Steve?" Gene asked, although he didn't really want to know.
"Just for tonight, let's just put Steve and Terri out of our mind…. Would that be alright?" she asked, smiling.
Gene came closer and took Calen in his arms. His answer was crystal clear as he placed his lips on hers, both sighing from the sheer pleasure and release it brought them.
The ringing phone interrupted Gene’s present course of action. Sighing, she went to answer it, and he listened to her voice to see if it was Steve. Suddenly, regret entered his mind. Regret that made him ashamed of what he was thinking and contemplating.
Terri had been gone for the past two weeks working with the producers of the Practice on one of her screenplays she had written, leaving Gene alone in Scotland with Calen. He knew that she hadn’t seen Steve in months and would be as lonely as he would, maybe even more so. He thought that they could stave off their emptiness together, but now, he was having second thoughts. While she was still on the phone, he headed for the door.
"Gene, where are you going?" Calen asked, dropping the phone to run and grab him.
"I have to go, I can’t be here with you, right now, I’m sorry."
"Please don’t go Gene…. It isn’t Steve, its just Sheri." She begged. He never could resist those hazel eyes.
"I can’t…. Please understand…" he said before shutting the door and leaving Calen alone. He heard her behind the door talking to Sheri for a moment and hanging up.
Leaving for the elevator, he felt awful for doing what he did to her. He cared for her so much, and he knew that she wanted to be with him as much as he wanted to be with her, so why was he leaving? He couldn’t answer the question. Turning around, he made his way back to her room, and threw caution to the wind. He approached her door, and taking a deep breath, knocked.
Calen knew in her heart who it was, but wasn’t sure she wanted to let him back in to tempt her again. "Who is it?" she asked.
"Its me. Can I come in?" he whispered against the door.
"Why? I thought you left."
"Please Calen, let me in…. I, I need you…"
The sound of his smooth voice sent shivers through her. How could she possibly resist him? She couldn’t….
As she slowly opened the door once more, he walked back in, taking one hand and placing it on her cheek, motioning her to come closer. As she did, his lips met hers in a passionate kiss. He slammed the door behind them and pushed her up against it, pinning her tightly with his body while his hands explored her soft round curves. His mouth sought the warm skin of her neck and he inhaled the subtle scent of the remainder of her perfume. Their breathing became more labored, their pulses quicker as their passion began to consume them. He pulled her away from the door as she ran her hands up to his shoulder, throwing his jacket to the floor, all the while their lips never parting. Throwing her arms over his neck, he spun her around and pushed her down face first onto the tall end table, knocking everything to the floor. As he leaned over, he ran his hands underneath her body to her breasts, grabbing them hungrily through the small T-shirt. She arched her back and moaned loudly, her body begging for more. He reached down, pulled down her shorts, and ripped her underwear from her as if they were made of paper. Calen pounded her fists against the table as her passion became too much for her. Gene pulled her up again, still remaining behind her and buried his face in her neck, his lips sucking the very life out of her.
He turned her around and lifted her up onto the table. As he stood in front of her, she ran her hands up and grabbed at his button down shirt, ripping every button in an attempt to free him from the garment. Once it fell to the floor, she slowed her pace and teasingly began to unzip his pants one notch at a time. He grabbed her hands and threw them to the side as he gripped her hips and pulled her legs around his waist, leaving nothing between them. He leaned down to kiss her once more and he caressed her firm breasts through the shirt, taking time to run her hard nipples under his palms. He knew everything about her body, all the spots that made her crazy and he planned on exploring each one thoroughly before the night was over. He knew in his heart that this would be the one and only time they would be together and he intended on making every minute count.
Calen laid her head back, enjoying the attention her aching body was receiving. His lips were soft now on her neck, his hands instinctively arousing her most sensitive areas. Gene ran his hands under her T-shirt, lifting it up over her head and holding her hands there while he bent down to let his mouth find her nipples, enclosing them in a soft kiss. When he stood up, she wrapped her legs around him once more, feeling his awaiting hardness pushing up against her, begging to be enclosed inside her. In one long, deep thrust, he entered her, the impact making her cry out momentarily before closing her eyes and enjoying the sensation of complete fullness. Before she knew it, she found herself being lifted up in his arms and being carried toward the bedroom. She wrapped herself around him, loving the feel of his strong arms around her. When they reached the bed, he placed her down carefully and laid himself on top, his lips touching hers again. Together, they shut themselves off from the world and just concentrated on each other’s pleasure and satisfaction.
Deliberately, they moved together in unison, their pace increasing with each moment. When their mutual release came, it was swift and intense. They spoke no words, just held each other tight as they fell asleep, lulled by the sound of their own hearts beating.
*******************************
The next morning, Calen stretched her aching bones while blinking the sunlight out of her tired eyes. She looked around and wondered if Gene had already left for the set, but spotting the clock, she realized it was still too early. She threw back the covers and found a long nightshirt to put on, when Gene came back into the bedroom carrying a tray that contained last night’s cheeseburgers and fries.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about the cheeseburgers…." Calen laughed.
"Its ok, they're just as good for breakfast, I heated them up some." Gene replied, sitting back down on the bed and giving Calen a good morning kiss.
They ate in silence. Not so much because of the good food, but because neither knew exactly what to say to the other after what had happened the night before. They didn't necessarily feel sorry about what happened, but in the light of day, it hit them that they had now not only affected their relationship, but the relationship they had with Steve and Terri, and that scared them.
Gene looked at Calen. Making love to her the night before had changed his perception of her tremendously, but in a good way. He experienced first hand the deep passion that up till now had only been reserved for Steve, and he felt truly privileged. But, would Terri understand this? He had to confess to her and hope she would realize that if it had been anyone else but Calen, last night would never had happened. He wondered if it would be the same for Steve. Steve knew from the very beginning Calen’s feelings for him, but he didn't believe that Steve would think this would ever happen. How would he react?
"Penny for your thoughts?" Calen asked, noticing the distant look in Gene’s eyes.
Gene smiled. "Wouldn’t get your money’s worth."
"Thinking about last night?"
He was relieved that she brought up the subject first because he didn't know how to approach it. "Yeah, I guess so."
Calen sighed. "Any regrets?"
"No, absolutely not." He replied adamantly.
"Even if it means losing Terri?"
"Yes, even if it means losing Terri. No matter what, I wouldn’t want to take anything back that I did or said last night. You?"
Calen paused. "I don’t regret anything either. I wanted to know how it would feel with you inside me, to feel your arms around me that way, and now I know. It will live in my dreams until the day I die." She whispered.
Gene held her in his arms. "But you're in love with Steve."
"Yes. Does that sound selfish?"
"No, I understand. Terri has my heart completely. I love you, but I’m not in love with you, not like that. I know that’s how you feel about Steve."
"Yes it is. I love you, but sometimes I ache for Steve when we aren’t together. I wait by the phone just to hear his voice for two minutes. I turn on the TV so I can see him, but have to turn it off because it hurts that I’m not with him. The second this movie is finished, I will be traveling with him again, no doubt about that. The love I have for you is not more or less, just different and special."
"Well, what do you say? Keep last night in our memories, tell Terri and Steve the truth and hope for the best?" Gene asked, stroking her hair.
"Yes, I think we owe them the truth. But if Steve asks, I have to tell him that I’m not sorry we did this."
"Same here." He replied, pulling her face to look at him. "And, maybe if they dump us, we can give it a try…." He joked.
"Yeah, maybe, but we would probably kill each other in the first week!" Calen laughed.
Gene nodded in agreement. Indeed, she knew him too well.
Chapter 23
A few weeks had passed, and Terri was in New York City. Tentatively she waited in the first class lounge of LaGuardia Airport. In hand, she had a dozen red roses, deep red, not bright, and a box of fine Ferro Roche chocolates. She knew Gene would love them, for he loved most things chocolate, especially on her.
What would he say when she told him about what had happened earlier that week? Would he congratulate her, be angry with her, or not care? He had called her to let her know he was coming to see her, and that production had stopped for a break in filming.
Slowly the plane taxied across the span of windows, and she felt her heart leap in anticipation as the gate trundled up. Glass doors opened, and the passengers from First Class disembarked.
He strode up, his long leather duster coat swirling around his ankles, a casual hat on his head, and the long leather pants she loved so much with a red button up shirt. At sight of her he moved quickly toward her open arms, boots propelling him in long strides across the carpet. His huge smile gladdened and saddened her simultaneously. Next to him, Calen McGregor strode up in jeans and a comfortable button up blouse with sneakers. She waved a greeting to Terri as well.
For a moment, Calen noticed the odd look of embarrassment on Terri's face. Did she suspect what had really happened? If so, she was justified in her suspicion. Yet the more Calen examined Terri's mannerisms, she realized it was something else that Terri must have on her mind.
Terri was swept up into his arms into a deep kiss. His tongue choked off all protests or possible apologies, working into her mouth sweetly. "I missed you baby," Gene whispered into her ear softly as he set her down.
"Same here," she smiled. "And this is just a small measure of how much…"
"Ohh, for me? I love these," Gene said, taking the box and ripping at the plastic. He instantly devoured one piece, savoring it as the chocolate melted in his throat.
"Glad you like them…" she grinned. Then he held a piece up to her and she nibbled it lightly. She peered past him at Calen watching them thoughtfully, and flushed.
"Hi, sorry to ignore you," Terri got out.
"Hey it's okay. I'm just glad to see you two together again," Calen smiled, walking over to join them. She and Terri hugged firmly, patting each other on the back.
"I'm also glad to see you walking so comfortably…" Terri laughed, muffled into Calen's shoulder.
"So am I. Those producers treating you well in the Practice?"
"Pretty much… say want to join Gene and me for lunch at the hotel?" Terri offered.
Just then Calen glanced down at her watch, and backed away. "Sorry… I'll have to take a rain check. I'm on my way to fly out to Denver actually. I'm meeting up with Steve…"
"Well can't you stop to have lunch with us?"
"I don't have much layover time," Calen grinned. "Get out of here you two. You have a lot of catching up to do…"
At these words, she exchanged a wink and a glance with Gene, who nodded slowly. Arms around each other they strode out to the parking garage. Calen waved goodbye and went to get her flight to Denver.
*******************************
Terri pulled out of the labyrinthine garage with a good deal of luck and skill. After all, she didn’t want to damage a rental. Gene elected to ride in the passenger seat as she drove them to her hotel. Taking a breath, she eased out onto the freeway, and they were soon underway on the open road.
"Nicely done. You looked like you were going to lose it," Gene teased. "I'm not a driver's Ed instructor…"
"I know… but it's a rental and I don’t want to have some accident…"
"Would I be sitting her if I didn't trust you to drive it?"
"I know… I'm just excited to see you again…"
"How excited?" Gene winked wickedly, and reached into her seat. She gasped as his hand slipped up her thigh.
"Gene… I'm trying not to wrap this around a phone pole…"
"Aww, you're no fun," Gene pretended to grumble.
"I'm supposed to keep both hands on the wheel… remember?"
"You are," Gene grinned.
"Well I'm tempted to reach over and do something else… but I think I'll end up going into the other lane if I do…"
"Pull over," Gene whispered.
"What?"
"Pull over. Find a lot. I wanna know what you're gonna do…"
Terri scanned till she found a convenient side alley in Manhattan, where they most likely wouldn't be disturbed. She glanced left and right for any nosey onlookers, then stopped the car. By now, Gene had slipped his hand up her leg, till he reached her panties.
"Ohh Gene," she whimpered, as he slipped his fingers inside and stroked her. Leaning over she squeezed his thigh, moving her hand upwards.
"Is that all?" he teased.
"No," she whispered. He reached over and unclipped her seatbelt.
"Get out of that driver's seat and into mine," he growled seductively, taking her hand. She was about to straddle him when she saw him move his seat back, but he grabbed her hips and put her between his leather clad knees facing frontward. Slowly he began to knead her breasts through her shirt, reaching around her to do so. He caressed her to firmness in a matter of moments, and she felt a bolt of desire through her whole body. Then he unbuttoned her blouse slowly, kissing her neck and shoulder once it was bared.
"Mmm, I missed that," she sighed, leaning back to press a kiss to his cheek.
"And maybe this?" he chuckled, reaching down to run fingers over her belly, and down between her legs in one stroke. She arched against him deliciously, stroking her back against his chest. When she tried to get up, he held her fast.
"No, I still am having too much fun…"
"Well, that gives me more time to figure out how to tease you," she laughed.
Gene finally released her hips and helped her take off her shoes. He reached down to unclip his own seatbelt, and hit the button to lean his seat back. The hat rolled off his head into the seat behind, but he didn’t care. "Make yourself comfortable. It's going to be a bumpy ride," he joked.
"And you just unclipped your seatbelt. I'm gonna have to write you up for that," she scolded as she settled into place. Reaching down between her legs, she began to massage him.
"Hmm maybe I should try a felony next time," he hummed with delight. He pulled off her shirt and tossed it down on the car floor, rubbing her breasts again. He kissed her chest, working down as she unbuttoned his own shirt and ran her hands down his belly to his belt. Reaching between her legs, she unfastened the belt, and pants, savoring the look of pleasure writing itself on his face before her. Gene lifted her hips to help shift her out of her stockings and underwear as she pulled the zipper the rest of the way down.
She settled into place, but did nothing else except lightly kiss his lips. He seized her hands and held them at her sides, wriggling his hips. She gasped when he thrust up into her with a concerted shove, causing her to gasp. Harder and harder, he thrust upward, bouncing her on his lap with each movement. Each movement brought her closer and closer to that precipice she'd missed.
Leaning over she bit his neck to stifle the scream that erupted. Within her he also exploded, hot energy surging into her aching depths. At the last moment, she collapsed atop him, sweating. Gene held her closely to him, her ear pressed to his bare chest to listen to his heart coming to a steady beat.
Finally, Gene stirred, fingering her cheek. Cold air hit their bare skin, as cars rushed by in a dull roar. "I think I'll drive now, sweetie… just tell me how to get there…" he whispered.
********************************************************
Much later in the hotel room, sweet warmth touched Terri's lips. She stirred and hummed with delight, nestled in that patch of perfect comfort she had missed for two weeks. Still she didn’t' open her eyes, electing to try and discover the source of the sweet stickiness pervading her lips.
It came again; this time pressed to her lips with something soft that wiggled with its own life. It tickled and she shook as she stifled her giggle. Slowly she blinked and peered into two dark eyes, and felt a weight pinning her down deliciously to the bed from above. In his hand, he held a box, which he set aside, and picked up a donut, breaking off a piece and holding it to her lips.
"Good morning sweetheart," he cooed deeply. "I wondered when you were going to wake up…"
She opened her mouth and Gene fed her the piece of donut. He grinned when she licked the powdered sugar from his fingers. Piece after piece he fed her, ignoring the sprinkles that fell onto the sheets. Periodically he held up a cup of coffee for her to sip between mouthfuls.
"Mm, breakfast in bed. You're spoiling me rotten Gene…"
"Someone has to," he chuckled.
"I could get used to this…"
"So could I. I missed you a lot Terri. I just wanna make it up to you…"
"You already did," she sighed, stretching. Gene moved off her, and then slipped under the sheets. She picked up a donut and began to feed him this time.
"So did you keep yourself busy?" he asked.
"Uh… oh yeah…" she muttered.
"You all right?" Gene asked. "How did that scriptwriting deal work out?"
"Yeah. It went all right. But I ran into Bruce Kulick while I was here. He was touring with Union."
"How's he?"
"Oh, doing well…" Terri said softly.
"Hmm," Gene laughed.
"How about you?" Terri asked, changing the subject.
"Well, that's what I wanted to tell you. Something happened… baby… you look upset what…"
"Gene… I have to tell you now… I… I…"
"You know?"
"Know what?" she answered in confusion.
"Oh… well… I…"
They both stopped, then Gene asked again, "Terri you look like you're about to explode, and you're all cold. What's going on?"
"Gene… it's Bruce. He came and he stayed the night…"
"And… how is he? Is something wrong with him?"
"No…"
"Is he sick?"
"No… just lonely…"
"Terri… you can tell me… please…"
"He came back to my hotel room, and we talked, and one thing led to another… and I had sex with Bruce, okay? I feel awful and I…"
"What?" Gene asked, sitting bold upright.
"I slept with Bruce. He was lonely because of his recent divorce, and I was missing you so badly…. And he just needed it…"
"Wait, you said you slept with Bruce Kulick?"
"Yes… well no, it was oral sex," she began to tremble, head in her hands. "I'm sorry… I just figured since you were well… who you are… you wouldn't be too pissed. But if you are…"
"Terri… why didn't you tell me?" Gene asked. He looked genuinely shocked.
"Because… well I thought you'd be pissed. But I can't see why you should be logically… but if you hate me for it… I can't help that…"
Gene shook his head, and began to laugh. "What is so funny?"
"I have to confess Terri… I well… slept with someone when I was away too…"
"You did," she said levelly.
"Yeah."
"Was it Calen?"
"Yes," Gene nodded. "I'm sorry if you get upset…but we had no regrets… and now that you admitted you slept with Bruce… well it's just ironic… here I was all worried and…"
"This is insane," Terri shook her head. She began to shake, burying her face in her hands.
"Terri… I…"
She laughed hysterically, tears in her eyes as she quaked. "Oh my God this is… I don’t know if I should be pissed at you, or relieved!"
"You're not mad then?"
"I should be, but I can't be!" Terri laughed, and leaned on Gene. He began to laugh too, till they were both hugging their sides and gasping.
"What… you really gave Bruce a blowjob? Bruce Kulick?" Gene panted.
"Yeah… I sure did. I was there…"
"How was it…?" Gene asked. Terri howled with mirth, hugging her stomach as she began to hiccup.
"I can't believe you asked me that…"
"I wanna know. I want details! To satisfy my sick curiosity…"
"Only if you tell me about you and Calen!"
"You first…" Gene nudged her.
"Well… you know that scene with Christine and that geeky reporter in Exposed?"
"Yeah? The by the pool scene or the hottub scene?"
"Well I turned the taps on to full, and threw some dry ice into the tub… and led him blindfolded into it. Even when he took it off he couldn't' see me. We played Marco Polo… and then I used lime flavored rub…."
"And…" Gene said, genuinely interested.
"I gave him a blowjob, on the edge of the tub… you should have seen his face, Gene…"
"Well, that's very creative," he nodded, genuine admiration in his face. "Then what?"
"We then took it into the guestroom. I handcuffed him to the bed, got out the Reddi whip… and went to town. I'm afraid we're out of maraschino cherry sauce though… and the chocolate sauce…"
"He got his just desserts, didn’t he?"
"In a manner of speaking. I much enjoyed my desert… a little late…"
"Poor Bruce," Gene laughed hysterically again, near tears. "I bet he didn’t' know what the hell hit him…"
"Nope. He was exhausted. But we didn’t actually have sex, not the way you and I have so many times. We just held each other the rest of the night. I ordered room service at nine-thirty, and he didn’t' get up till after eleven!"
"Man Terri, I am proud," Gene grinned, kissing her softly. "That is one hell of a story…"
"Well, he did say that if you had your fun I was entitled to mine…"
"Why didn't you ask me if you had doubts about that… I assumed you knew…"
"Knew what? I can't read your mind…"
"That if you wanted to have a little fun, you can. Just tell me about it next time!"
"Now tell me about you and Calen… was it good?"
"Incredibly," Gene smiled. "But you don't have anything to worry about. It was good passionate sex…"
"Was she a fireball?"
"Definitely," Gene nodded as he told her the whole story. "And it started with cheeseburgers…"
